Job Title: EVS Quality Control Supervisor
Schedule: Monday-Friday, weekend availability
Pay Rate: $52,000-$55,000
Job Summary:
The Environmental Services Quality Control Manager will provide leadership, direction, and management oversight to continuously improve the standard EVS operating mode within multiple facilities. The EVS Quality Control Manager will ensure that all environmental services (EVS) cleaning operations meet the highest standards of hygiene, infection control, and patient safety, and make informed business decisions that support the environmental services division's mission and vision. The manager will demonstrate leadership in providing an optimal environment for patient care, safety, service, and value. The EVS Quality Control Manager will manage the department's day-to-day quality control, customer service, and training to ensure a consistently high level of cleanliness and aesthetics for patients, visitors, and staff.
Primary Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to maintain high cleanliness standards and promptly address deficiencies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all housekeeping activities comply with company policy and health regulations, including OSHA and Joint Commission standards.
- Oversight of Infection Control Compliance: Ensuring all environmental services staff adhere to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff to ensure adherence to cleaning protocols and schedules.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training to staff on the latest cleaning techniques and safety procedures
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the department's budget, monitoring expenses to ensure compliance with allocated funds.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities, especially during special events or emergencies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections of clinical and non-clinical areas (exam rooms, procedure rooms, OR rooms, PACU, patient rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, offices, etc.) to ensure compliance with EVS protocols.
- Ensure cleaning procedures align with infection prevention guidelines and regulatory standards (e.g., CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission).
- Identify areas needing corrective action and communicate findings to EVS team members and supervisors.
- Provide on-the-spot training to EVS staff on proper cleaning, sanitization, and waste disposal techniques.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and quality control reports.
- Collaborate with nursing and administrative staff to respond promptly to cleanliness concerns.
- Collaborate with the Pinnacle team members to support continuous improvement and audit readiness
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and continuous training for new EVS employees.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment usage, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Report maintenance or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
- Develop, implement, and facilitate training programs for new and existing EVS staff, focusing on cleaning procedures, infection prevention, chemical safety, and equipment use.
- Assist with developing training manuals, visual aids, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate training records, checklists, and certification logs.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in Environmental Services or housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or ambulatory setting.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and cleaning standards in clinical environments.
- Strong knowledge of infection control, sanitation standards, and healthcare cleaning protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment, hospital-grade disinfectants, and safety data sheets (SDS).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish) a plus.
- Experience with safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and PPE.
- Ability to coach and motivate staff with varying skill levels and learning styles.
